Cleaner, sexier coffee ritual
There’s nothing I love more than my morning Cuppa Naughty to start the day. Over time, it became so much more than just coffee. It turned into a ritual I genuinely look forward to each morning — something that feels indulgent, tastes amazing, and also works better for my body.
After dealing with things like heartburn, ingredient sensitivity, and becoming more aware of what I was putting into my system, I started creating my own version at home using ingredients and tools I actually trust. I wanted something that still felt rich and satisfying, but without all the fillers, unnecessary additives, plastics, and mystery ingredients that come with so many store-bought options and coffee pods.
One of the things I love most about this routine is how simple it really is. My homemade almond milk is made with just four ingredients and takes only eight minutes to make, which makes it feel realistic enough to keep as part of my everyday life. It’s clean, intentional, and honestly tastes better than most of what I used to order out.
Hallstein Water
If you’re making coffee every day, the water you use matters way more than most people realize. Coffee is mostly water, so if the base of it isn’t good, it doesn’t really make sense to spend money on cleaner coffee and better ingredients just to pour them into something lower quality.
I use Hallstein Water because it’s known for being one of the purest spring waters, and I like that it comes in glass instead of plastic. That was a big thing for me once I started becoming more aware of how much plastic can sneak into everyday life. It’s naturally filtered through limestone in Austria, has a really clean taste, and just feels like a better option for something I use every single morning.
This is one of those little things that may seem extra at first, but when you’re trying to create a cleaner routine at home, the little details do add up.
Manukora Honey
I’m not someone who likes my coffee overly sweet, but I do want it to have a little something. I use Manukora Honey because it gives my almond milk a softer, more natural sweetness without making it taste fake or too sugary.
It’s a raw Manuka honey from New Zealand, and what makes this different from regular honey is that it naturally contains more beneficial compounds, especially something called MGO, which is one of the things it’s known for.
Manuka honey is often used for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, and it also contains antioxidants, which is one of the reasons people see it as a more beneficial option than regular processed sugar or syrups. It’s also soothing, which is something I like knowing when I’m using it in something I drink all the time.
Simply Organic Cinnamon
Cinnamon is one of those small ingredients that makes a big difference. I use organic cinnamon by Simply Organic because it gives my almond milk that warm, cozy flavor that makes my coffee feel a little more special and a lot less plain.
But beyond the taste, cinnamon is also one of those ingredients that actually has benefits too. It’s known for being rich in antioxidants, and it’s often talked about for helping support things like blood sugar balance and inflammation, which is one of the reasons I like adding it into something I drink so regularly. For me, this is one of those ingredients that helps turn coffee from just a drink into part of the ritual.
Organic Almonds
This was a big one for me. I started using organic almonds because I wanted to make my own almond milk at home instead of buying store-bought versions filled with gums, oils, preservatives, and a bunch of extra ingredients I didn’t really want in something I drink almost every day.
I like using organic almonds because they’re simple, clean, and they let me know exactly what’s going into my milk. Almonds are also naturally full of healthy fats, vitamin E, and minerals like magnesium, so it feels a lot better using something that actually has nutritional value instead of something watered down and overly processed.
And honestly, homemade almond milk just tastes better. It feels fresher, cleaner, and more real. Once I started making it myself, I realized how much of a difference it makes — not just in flavor, but in how good I feel about drinking it.
Vera Salt
I use Vera Salt because it’s one of those simple upgrades that fits into the bigger picture of trying to make my everyday routine cleaner.
I like that it comes in plastic-free packaging, which was a big part of why I chose it. When you start paying attention to how many things in your kitchen come wrapped, stored, or packaged in plastic, you realize how often it shows up in places you wouldn’t even think about.
I also like that it fits with the kind of ingredients I’m trying to keep in my kitchen. It’s clean, simple, and not full of unnecessary additives or anti-caking agents that a lot of regular table salts have.
And even though it’s just a pinch, salt does make a difference. It helps balance the flavor of the almond milk and brings everything together so it tastes smoother and more complete.
LifeBoost Coffee Beans
This is the coffee that really made me realize I didn’t have to keep drinking coffee that made me feel awful after. I use Lifeboost because they’re clean, organic, mold-free, and lower in acid, which was a huge thing for me once I started paying attention to what was actually affecting my body.
One of the biggest reasons I stay with this one is because it has helped so much with my heartburn. I still wanted my coffee to feel rich, bold, and satisfying, but I didn’t want that heavy, irritated feeling after drinking it. Once I switched to a cleaner, mold-free coffee, I noticed a difference pretty quickly.
Lifeboost says their beans are third-party tested for mycotoxins, mold, heavy metals, pesticides, and hundreds of other contaminants, and they’re also specifically made to be low acid, which is a big part of why it feels easier on my stomach. I also love that I can still have a dark roast without feeling like I’m sacrificing how I feel later. For me, this was one of the biggest upgrades in my whole coffee routine.
Almond Mixer
I love this nut mixer because it makes homemade almond milk feel really easy and realistic to keep up with. It only takes about 8 minutes, so it doesn’t feel like this huge kitchen project every time I want to make a fresh batch.
What I especially love about this one is that it’s super affordable, it’s pretty, and the inside is stainless steel, so my ingredients aren’t sitting in plastic while they’re being heated and mixed. That was a big plus for me because if I’m going through the effort of making something cleaner at home, I don’t want to ruin that by mixing it in plastic.
Once it’s done, you do have to strain the milk to remove the little almond shavings so it comes out smooth and creamy instead of gritty.
Visp Glass Mixer
This is what I strain my almond milk into once it’s done, and it ended up being the perfect size for exactly one batch.
Since the almond milk is fresh and doesn’t have preservatives, it will usually spoil after about 3 days, so I like making it in smaller batches. For me, one batch normally lasts about 2 days, which works out perfectly with how I drink my coffee.
I make my coffee more cappuccino-style, so I don’t use a lot of milk. I’m usually having 1–2 cups a day depending on how I feel, so the 12 oz mixer I use is just right for me. If you’re someone who uses more milk or drinks more coffee throughout the day, Visp does make a larger 24 oz version.
I also love that it’s glass, because I didn’t want to go through the effort of making something cleaner and then have it sitting in a plastic container in the fridge.
And what makes this one even better is that when I’m ready to make my coffee, I just press the button and it mixes the almond milk right back together for me. No shaking, no mess, and no dealing with separation.
Ember Mug
This is probably one of my favorite things I use in my whole coffee routine. I drink my Cuppa Naughty in my Ember Mug, and once I got one, I honestly could never go back.
I hate when coffee starts out perfect and then a few minutes later it’s just sitting there getting warm. I was constantly reheating my coffee in the microwave, and it got old really fast. With the Ember Mug, I can set the exact temperature I want and it keeps my coffee there the whole time I’m drinking it.
That alone changed the experience for me because I can actually enjoy my coffee slowly without feeling rushed to finish it before it gets gross. And of course, I have mine in red and gold, which makes me love it even more.
